The Vigilante Extreme ZipRider was named for the notorious group of men who, in the absence of a sufficient police force in the Ozarks in the 1800s, took the law into their own hands, becoming as feared and lawless as the criminals they banded together to fight. Those infamous vigilantes were known as Baldknobbers for the mountain ‘bald’ where they often gathered. But make no mistake, the similarities end with the name - the ZipRider is thoroughly maintained and inspected, giving you the safest thrill you can experience while flying through the air without a care in the world!
Your terrific zip trip begins with a glass elevator climb to the climate-controlled indoor observation deck on Shepherd of the Hills’ Inspiration Tower. When it’s time to climb into your seat, you’ll be awed by the scenic rush that hits you when the gates open! It takes mere seconds to safely strap you into your seat before you’re quickly flying an amazing half mile across the historic 160-acre Homestead! When you lift your feet and make a fast-paced landing at the platform, the fine folks of Vigilante Extreme ZipRider will transport you back up the mountain - don’t forget to enjoy the scenic ride back to Inspiration Tower!

The Vigilante Extreme ZipRider is located at the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead & Adventure Park.
The Homestead & Adventure Park is located at 5586 West 76 Country Boulevard on the outskirts of Branson, just a couple of miles before you reach Silver Dollar City.
Your visit to Inspiration Tower is included in your ZipRider ticket. (not applicable during Christmas season)
Children under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Riders must weigh between 80 and 275 pounds and be at least 52 inches tall, and no more than 80 inches tall, for comfort and safety on the ride.
As long as the weight and height requirements are met, there is no minimum or maximum age to ride.
Ensure that shoes are secure. No flip-flops or open heel shoes. Make sure shoelaces are tied.
The Vigilante Extreme ZipRider launches from a deck on Inspiration Tower that’s 170 feet up in the air. It reaches speeds up to 50 mph along a cable that’s more than one-half-mile long.
The only instructions necessary for each rider is that you lift your feet at the end to make it easier for ZipRider employees to assist you while the ride is braking.
Don’t forget to check out the photograph taken of you enjoying the ride; the photo counter is located in the ground level of the tower.
There is a gift shop and restrooms in Inspiration Tower.

[August 2025] My brother, cousin and I made reservations in advance to our visit to Branson, so we were very much looking forward to our wave to go. It was a seamless process for checking in, purchasing a camera (you cannot bring your own) and going up the tower in the elevator and meeting the staff at the top. The staff explained everything to us and made sure we were safely strapped in. It was a great run and the staff waiting at the bottom made sure you stopped properly and ensured each person quickly leaves to keep the lines moving. I was worried I operated the camera incorrectly so when I checked the video link, I was so happy that despite myself “pausing” the video, it still captured my entire flight. I definitely would return!

My father in law got a zipline as part of a package, so I can't remark on the prices only the experience. We booked our zipline at 10am. This was the first slot of the day. Check in was easy. Pretty standard waiver process. They gave me the option to carry one of their go pro cameras, which was cool. You only pay if you download the video, which was $12, which is a lot cheaper than many places. Four riders can zipline together at the same time which was cool. You zipline from the top of the shepherd of the valley tower to the bottom of the valley. This was the longest zipline I'd been on. My wife and my 73 year old father (his first zipline) and 80 year old father in law went together. You are strapped into a kind of pouch, so I felt secure. They release you all at the same time and boy do you move. Mine went the fastest and I got down the mountain in about 47 seconds. Everyone went at varying speeds. I'd been on some ziplines that really jar you when you come to a stop, but given the speed, this was a fairly gentle slow down. Everyone had a great time. I would love to take their canopy tour, which is a series of shorter ziplines through the trees, but this was a good first time for my dad. Staff was very nice and professional. The video download from their website was easy. Nice momento. Would go again and would recommend to others.

I would have rated a 5 star if it were not for their confusing way of handling ticketing. I purchased my tickets online. I got the play all day pass. We first arrived to the tower then realized we had to get our play pass at the farm entrance. But, we had to get the zipline passes in the tower (also purchased online). I we went back for our other pass then I waited in the long line for the zip passes. I get to the front and am told I could just check in with the desk by the front door since I bought online. All the people around me had also been all over the place trying to figure out how to work tickets. My ride time was about 3pm. Like they say, they can run later. We got on about 315 so not much more of a wait! A friendly staff for sure! The ride back up came about 5-10 minutes after our ride down. Over all, it was a great experience and I recommend doing the zipline along with the play all day pass.

We went 7/23/23. Absolutely loved it! Took my 13 year old son he loved it to. The lady at the desk was helpful and very nice in letting us know what to do when we arrived. The lady at he top of the tower was awesome where we were safely put in-our harnesses. What a beautiful view from up there too. Highly recommended!!
