Veterans Memorial Museum

Veterans Memorial Museum couldn’t have selected a better home! No other destination wears its patriotism as proudly as Branson, Missouri; it’s an authentic and sincere reverence for, and an appreciation of, the men and women who’ve unselfishly served our country in every branch of the military.

As part of Branson’s many attractions, featured through Branson Show Tickets, this museum stands out as a meaningful stop for visitors of all ages. The Museum honors these heroes with more than 2,000 exhibits that commemorate the American soldier and their sacrifices while serving in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, and more recent conflicts.

Veterans Memorial Museum is the heartfelt vision of renowned bronze sculptor, Fred Hoppe, who personally collected thousands of items that were put on display when the facility opened.  Many items and exhibits have since been added as veterans and their families have loaned or donated items to the 18,000 square foot museum.  

Returning visitors will be thrilled to discover that Fred Hoppe’s stunning sculpture of 50 soldiers storming a beach (each represents an actual soldier) is back from storage and on display in front of the museum.  Another of Hoppe's inspirational sculptures was purchased by the City of Branson; it now resides in the Memorial Garden at the corner of Highway 76 and Roark Valley Road for everyone to see as they enter Branson’s famous Strip.

The displays at Veterans Memorial Museum can be found in ten great halls, each covering a war or conflict fought.  You’ll discover sculptures, artifacts, murals, memorabilia, and pieces of art thoughtfully arranged to tell the stories behind each item.  A moving and emotional highlight of your visit is sure to be the names displayed on the walls of the halls; the actual names of soldiers killed in action during WWII, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, and other 20th century conflicts.

Helpful Hints/Additional Information

• Veterans Memorial Museum is located at 1250 West 76 Country Boulevard.

• The museum is open from March thru December 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every Sunday and 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Mon thru Sat - it's only closed on Christmas day.

• Tours of the museum are self-guided.

• Both still and video photography is permitted while in the museum, but please be respectful of the displays by not touching or disturbing items.

• There is a gift shop on-site.

• Veterans Memorial Museum is appropriate for all ages, but it’s best that youngsters be accompanied by an adult to help them best understand the displays and their importance to our history.

Displays in the museum include uniforms, medals, musical instruments, weapons, letters, paintings, and a wide variety of other items that all come together to tell stories...stories of soldiers on the ground and in the air...stories of medics and nurses who struggled to patch wounds and save lives...stories of POWs, some who came home and others who made the ultimate sacrifice.
