Branson is filled with incredible music, but one genre is practically owned by a single artist, and you’ll agree once you hear George Dyer deliver the aria from the opera Turandot, “Nessun Dorma” - pure music magic! Even guests who think they’re not an opera fan can’t help but get goosebumps when Dyer belts out a popular aria, but it’s not just opera - most of his unforgettable show is spent delivering hits that range from pop to the best of Broadway. He’s been delighting audiences for years now, and is currently holding court at the Americana Theatre with his show Broadway to Bublé Starring George Dyer. With such a strong voice commanding the stage, it’s hard to fathom how anyone else can share the spotlight with him, but George’s lovely wife, Clarisse, more than holds her own! It’s a real treat to hear them sing together, and it’s easy to see why these two enjoy a long-lasting marriage - you won’t find a couple who appears more comfortable on stage together, putting their hearts and souls into every single note of every popular song.
Dyer has been showcased at a variety of venues around Branson, but the Americana Theatre seems to fit him like a glove - enough seats to accommodate the demand, but intimate enough to make every last guest in the audience feel like George is performing for their ears only - it takes a very special talent to pull that off! The songlist may be changed up a bit from time to time, but past performances have included favorites like “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera, “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables, and music from The Greatest Showman. Dyer also delivers several power ballads, as well as current and past pop and gospel hits. On occasion, lucky audiences are treated to the talents of George and Clarisse’s offspring - all three practically grew up on stage and thoroughly enjoy singing, dancing, and getting a few laughs.
When the holiday season rolls around, Branson becomes a festive wonderland of lights, Christmas music, and other significent signs of merriment, and that includes Dyer’s show. Songs like “Ave Maria,” “Walking in a Winter Wonderland,” “Believe,” and “O Holy Night” are enough to put even the scrooge in your family in a giving and gracious state of mind!
